Have been at my agency for about 2.5 years and have only been able to get one raise because of Covid and raise freezes… what percentage increase is a good benchmark to ask for, knowing they likely won’t meet my initial ask (because, advertising 😏)

I think I read about some kind of process where when an applicant reaches out to a current student or alum for a 1:1 and makes a good impression, the student/alum can send a message to the adcom letting them know? Is it like a "Hey I connected with this applicant and had a great conversation with them. I think they would be a great fit for the program" type of thing?
