Taxes should be adjusted accordingly
I had this before, arranged it to be paid back over several months from salary. If they pay you the reduced salary the tax works itself out
It was in a previous job but same principle applies. I was paid 1500 extra total salary over 6 months by accident, rather than paying back the 1500 and dealing with tax etc, they took 500 pre tax from my salary for next 3 months. When it all shakes out was paid the same at the end of the year and all tax was fine. Hope this helps.
Taxes usually get evened out by a bigger refund when you file.
But that’s the hassle right? I need to pay out of my pocket and wait for an year when it’s a mistake from employer
