I have international education (UK &USA), prior work and internship experience in financial services, along with a sports background as an NCAA team captain and GB International player. Despite reaching final interview rounds twice, I didn't receive a offer. I'm looking for unconventional strategies to break into the industry. So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. What type of background check do HF/PE/VC forms so these days? Employment, education and felonies are a given (I think) but is fingerprinting and drug testing still in the mix? How about credit score?

I have a finance degree from UGA, but all of my experience (3.5 years) is in sales (tech and real estate), so no relevant internships unfortunately. I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in.
