I'm my 2023 batch topper in mechanical engineering. I learnt multiple softwares regarding mechanical simulation such as Ansys Comsol, Nastran, I'm just sick and tired of my low salary when compared to my friends in CSE. Currently i have an offer from CSIR (Indian research institute) for a year contract for 3lpa and if I clear a exam I'll be allowed to do PhD directly for 4 years.
My question is will I be ever able to cross my friends salary in my young age? Or should I switch to CSE COURSE.

Can anyone let me know if mental health teletherapy companies pay out a Christmas bonus for their providers?? I am truly curious although I suspect they don’t.

Senior attorneys at v100, how common is it for attorneys who start at small firms to lateral to biglaw? Have you worked with any? Conventional wisdom is always that if you don’t start there it’s hard to “trade up”. My coworker and I just did it to two different great v30 firms, and I’m wondering if it’s really that uncommon? Hi all, I am trying to DCA bi-weekly into Vanguard ETFs, (VO, VTI etc). It seems like Fidelity does not support auto buying of non-Fidelity ETFs. So I was wondering which of these options you think is best?

1. Open a Vanguard Invest account
2. Look for Fidelity ETFs that are similar to Vanguard ETFs
3. Use smaller brokerages like SoFi l, Robinhood etc.

I really do not want to manage nor be active. My goal is to log-in like once every 6 months.

Why is there such a huge pay difference between IT and Mechanical/auto industries? Many people in IT are getting 3xx salary hikes, but here I am struggling to get more that 20-30% hikes. Sure the skills are much more demand in IT field, but the discrepancy is too much. Is it due to most of the work are outsourced to consultancy/service based companies by the OEM? Or is there simply too much candidates available?
