I live in Chicago and absolutely love it as a fully remote employee in tech! It’s relatively affordable compared to the other cities you listed
I was thinking about moving to Austin 😄 I’ve heard great things! SF is way too expensive.
Does Microsoft do a salary adjustment if you move?
While still expensive, Austin will have a lower cost of living compared to the some of the other cities on your list. If you love outdoor activities, Austin is the perfect city. Keep in mind, the rest of Texas is VERY conservative.
I would consider the following:
-Weather preference
-Cost of living expectations
-Ability to purchase a home
-Culture
-Activities
-Terrain preference
Atlanta should be on your list too!
My brothers live in QAustin! As someone who has visited i personally wouldn't move there. That being said there are lots of opportunities there.
