I am considering an offer for an AE role (UK-LDN) where the base is £42k & OTE is £70k. The Regional GM has verbally promised to move it up to £50k base if I perform well during the probationary period, but I can’t have it in writing on the contract. I’ve tried to counter offer but they said I’m currently maxing the salary band (L4). This role is exciting as I’d be the first UK employee, doing the full sales cycle & more but I had the same base and ote as an SDR. Is it too low? Do I take it?

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. I proceed to ask how much PTO is offered and he said that is not recommend within the first 6 months of working and the harder you work the more PTO you receive. So, a recruiter sent me a HackerRank assessment and I went to complete it and it was so easy? Is this a red flag or a shit test or something? Like there was a number sequence: “1234567”, and it corresponded to a word: “Surgeon”. Then it was the word: “Snore”, which corresponded to “36425”. and then I had to figure out the number that corresponded to: “Rogue”. It just seemed too easy, why even have it besides creating another barrier to a possible offer? Should I tread carefully here?
