This is good for MCOLC, definitely above average. High end in HCOLC is around $350k, but that’s a small number of big tech firms in places like NYC and SF. A1’s expectations are off—it will always be a substantial pay cut going from big law to in house, but the hours difference and not billing your time makes up for it.
Atty1 I work nights and weekends but I’ve learned that’s what the big salary gets you. I wish I could go back to my last company with WLB for less pay
I wouldn’t leave biglaw for this.

Yeah, I disagree with A1.
Seems reasonable, TBH. You can try pushing for a $210-220 base. How big is the company?
I’d say take it. I went in-house and never looked back.
What’s the 401k match look like, and is the 20k of equity per year or a one-time grant with multi-year vest?
A3 - you've got it good. I'm 20+ YOE (though <5 in-house) at an employee-owned company in Denver/Aurora. Base is <$200, TC closer to $250.
I think you should push for more equity. I think you could be closer to $50k-75k. Also the vesting schedule can make a big dig difference. Some places vest monthly or quarterly after your 1year cliff which is much better than an annual vest.
ETA- also make sure you understand if there are refresher grants and how that works

The grant would be annual but I will admit I don’t know how/when it increases. I need to understand that better. I’ve already pushed on every aspect - they moved on base but can’t move anywhere else.
