I've been thinking about what my career would look like post consulting. I know that I don't want to do it forever, but I don't know exactly what's next. What kind of transitions have you made into other roles or careers in your 30s and 40s? I'm looking for something less demanding as I think about family planning in the next few years.

How's the ethics exam for VA licensure ?

Do VC funds value consulting experience? Weighing staying in Big 4 consulting vs going to a startup, while I try to crack into VC

Are PE associates typically let go after 2 years to go to bschool at the large funds? How often are associates promoted straight to VP?

Sanity check. Going to preface this by saying I'm not in a rush. I wanted to get some good consulting experience so joined EY out of UG. Got early promo, but I've reached the point where I'm no longer growing (learning) much on my current team. I've become very interested in PE and want to give that a shot. I lack the resume experience.

Thinking to move within EY to an M&A focused group SaT or EYP. Do ~2 years and see if I still want that. Will that tick the box for most PE shops?

Is a distribution supervisor job a decent stepping stone? Or a dead end for career progression?

Has anyone taken part of the education reimbursement program? I’ve been here for 4 years and I’m thinking of obtaining my Master’s in Organizational Leadership, but I feel like with this merger, if I started the program and then there are layoffs or too many new hires, or work just becomes overwhelming, I wouldn’t be able to complete my program. What’s a fair expectation for my first raise? Publicly traded co with ~2500 employees. I’ve been doing litigation with the company for almost 3 yrs and have only had a 2% cost of living raise so far.
