Hi Mastercard folks… I asked one of my friends for a referral at MC for a role I saw and they responded that I can apply externally and select “employee referral” and then list their name. Can anyone confirm this is just as good as a regular internally generated referral link? Or does it go into resume purgatory like most external applications?
My friend thinks it works the same but not sure if others had insight into this.

3L with mostly A’s and B’s. I am having the worst luck trying to find work for after school and my experience working with lawyers has left me completely dejected. I cannot get an interview to save my life. I was so excited to get an externship summer after 2L with a small business and IP firm only to get yelled at on the phone a few times for not doing an assignment correctly. Mind you, I was working FOR FREE as it was a school connected externship. That made me never want to work in the law.

Is building a personal website using Wordpress a good way to stand out as a PM candidate (junior) or is it better to code it from scratch? - I have some coding knowledge but mostly concerned if hiring managers would care.
