First understand the product marketing is extremely competitive right now.
However product marketing looks different everywhere. So maybe seek out PMM roles that ask for paid media experience. If your current company has a PMM function ask to help out so you gain experience. If it doesn’t have a PMM function build it out yourself so you can get the experience.
The best advice I can think of is honestly look at PMM job descriptions and make sure you check off the boxes. People can say get this certification or do this or that but if the goal is to land a job make sure you have experience in the common needs of a PMM role.
Also don’t get discouraged if you want it attack it. I just mentioned the competitiveness so you’d be aware. One more thing is to network go to events and DM people for coffee chats/info interviews.
