How do you bill your time? The busier I am the harder it is to bill. How do people actually bill contemporaneously in detailed terms when you bill 12 hours but literally did 100 different things in those 12 hours. And it’s never slow enough to go back and do it super detailed.

Beginning to consider going in house (4th, corp) - I really haven’t thought about what I want, partly because I’m not sure what’s out there/attainable. Is it a bad idea to start by applying to a couple positions that interest me and seeing where that gets me? I applied to a part time masters program to try to pivot to a different technical field (still doing patent work, but in something that interests me more than what I’m doing now). I had a technical discussion for HCL on 3rd Oct. It's been more than a week. I still haven't received a status on that interview. I have also received a "Resume shortlisted" mail from their careers app after a week.
Does it mean I'm selected? There's no intimation of the status at all. The HR don't reply on mails/calls.

Fishes need help. Wife works in HR, she was put on PIP. She is fairly certain that she will be let go; hence is thinking of resigning instead of trying getting terminated . 2 questions -
1. Her notice period is 90 days vs 30 days of pip. Will she be released at the end of PIP period (even if she does well during PIP)
2. More important - when you resign during PIP, what shows in your background verification - terminated or resigned ?
