Hi, wanted some career advice. Currently working in complex securities valuation, but very familiar with traditional valuation methods and financial statement analysis. Long term goal is to move into sports and/or entertainment industry in a finance role (valuation or strategic). How should I go about doing so? Do I need an MBA? Are there specific firms who focus more on these industries? How easy will it be to enter these teams considering I have no sports and entertainment specific experience?

I am seeking new employment, I was recently laid off due to lack of work. I would very much appreciate any leads. I have a Bs in Construction Management and over 15 years experience with Revit and AutoCAD and 7 years of plumbing design. I have solid references and impeccable work ethic. I truly enjoy what I do. Senior engineer making 135k and I was offered a promotion to engineering manager after completing a development plan. Near the end of the plan and I expect compensation talks to start soon.
