Hi folks
I wanted a suggestion from you all guys, I have given interview of PS and got a call for offer after interview and I denied the offer as I have received an offer from some other company, I denied coz I was not doing offer shopping or piling offers, he tried to convince me and when I didn't get convinced he said to blacklist me from PS. What to do?

What’s causing the anxiety? It’s natural to be nervous for the first one. Few points to help you guys think thru
1. Talk to the references
2. See how the baby reacts to the nanny and how the nanny reacts with the baby; do a dry run for a day
3. Ask about nanny’s style - training and disciplining habits; see if that fits with your views
4. If flexibility is imp to you, then talk to the nanny about weekend or late evening hours
5. Go with your gut
If you are super nervous, then also do the following
1. Get a copy of her license and car tag
2. Run a background check to see the driving records; imp of the nanny will be driving your baby
3. Ask about nanny plans to have her own baby; imp to know if you plan to have your nanny for the long time
Happy to chat more if you want to DM
Good luck
Thank you both!
Been here done it multiple times. Just be supportive and kind.
References are important! Just read through the lines. It’s hard to say something bad about someone who’s worked in your home and who you know is depending on your reference.
Also def pay on the books but you can do it yourself. It’s annoying but the payroll companies are $45+ per month. Crazy.
OP, we are planning the same- are you going for vaccinated nannys? I am concerned of covid more than anything else coz I will stay home anyways 🤷♂️
Thanks OP, I will check that now. My wife starts her new job next week and I am just cruising on the same role due to so much work with my 2 under 5 kids
1) In addition to the standard stuff like background and reference checks, I would recommend doing a paid trial like others have suggested
2) We have a babysitter for our 4-year old, pre-vaccine, she was getting tested every 2-3 weeks and so was one of us
