In the academics, we had multiple subjects and one of them was Writing for media. This was the beginning. This is where I thought I can be a writer. A Content Writer. I am having overall 12+ years of experience and currently working as technical support Engineer for enterprise servers, I wanted to make move into managerial role either into IT operations management or into infrastructure management will it be the right move?
May I know what are the compensation as per market standards for Manager IT operations or Manager IT Infrastructure?

Is it better to start off early career at a BDR/SDR role or a tech consulting role to eventually be a solutions engineer? Advice is appreciated!

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? In case it is helpful, I come from a civil law country. Thanks!

Copywriter with serious imposter syndrome at new job! How do senior writers up their game? Was in-house 1.5 years and underpaid in NYC. With only previous freelance experience (and nonprofit and grant writing before that) figured I had to slog through it for years. Cut to now, 6 months into a new copywriting role at huge tech company. My salary almost quintupled overnight. I think I’m doing great, but that depends on the day and who I work with (no other writers by the way).

Anyone have their PMP certification? Worth the time and effort? Do you think it’s helped bumped you to a top candidate when applying for jobs?

Iam 5 month pregnant , thinking to get release from project due to health issue and taking maternity leave from april 1st, at this situation can I be in bench for 3 months and go in maternity leave ? I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

So I work for a small company as a SEM/Director… which in my world just means I am really Lead Developer, Part BA and part product owner as well as reviewing the devs. I came up in this company starting at about SE3 of 5 so the position is just kind of what I made it. When my job is to handle all the corporations issues does it ever get hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel? Like that this business will survive? It will get its next round of funding? I want to thank everyone in this bowl for getting me trough the nightmare that is PCOS related fertility issues. After 1.5 years of trying, two rounds of medicated IUI, accupuncture and every other homeopathic treatment available, a vanished twin…. Hubby and I welcomed our little girl on Friday at 37 weeks.
