Does Natwest bank pay as competitive as Morgan Stanley Deutsche Bank. I mean Associate in MS and DB ranges from 20 to 30 lakh. However when I tried applying to Natwest expecting 40% hike (30 lpa) on current pay of 21 lakh. They straightway rejected me and said its not in their budget. Is there any financial firm which can pay as competitive to Mumbai banks. Barclays Deutsche Bank Natwest group BlackRock

You’re gonna have to be more specific in what you mean by strategy as most creatives are not trained in typical strategy disciplines. Even brand strategy analysis you might think they would know like positioning, competitive analysis, SWOT analysis—this isn’t something practiced. In fact many creatives hate the strategy side of the work. But if you do in fact need both you are likely going to be best off finding a senior level creative who has worked at a smaller shop and had to understand multiple sides of the business as I think it might be harder to teach a strategy the conceptual side than vice versa
“Do creative,” like copy write and art direct? Or help guide creative? If the former, you might have better luck looking for a strategic creative. What’s not working about your current prospects?
I would recommend looking for a creative (also are we talking designer/AD or copy?) who could also do strategy.
Yes to SD1’s question. If you’re looking for a strategist that can also design and write copy that’s going to be a unicorn of a person. But if you’re looking for a strategist that can provide creative direction, that shouldn’t be as tough. What tactics have you used to get to the people you’ve been meeting with that aren’t a fit?

I’m in exactly the same situation even down to the type of agency you’re at. The market is extremely dry at the moment, especially if you value diversity. Just know that you’re not the only one struggling
Of the strategists I hired in the past couple years, half of them I found myself by trawling LinkedIn. Good ones are hard to find, and there are a lot of people with impressive titles who are crap at it.
If you really want someone who can “do creative too” consider hiring a copywriter. The good ones will often dig into strategy.
Any advice as the best ways to find and recruit new people? I have no HR department (I know...I know...). Growing rapidly, creative agency with a ton of in-house experiential, cultural strategy, amazing clients (well amazing brands)

It’s interesting to hear that the talent pool is dry. On the other side, it feels like it’s more competitive than ever. I agree with someone else’s advice above. Find a copywriter at a small shop. They’re probably accustomed to writing their own strategies purely out of necessity and lack of strategy resources. Especially design and shopper marketing agencies.
How do we find each other to talk about it? This half/half function is what I do
