Hoping for advice - Microsoft wants to interview me for a cool role, I did not apply - they had my stuff from a year or so ago from a family referral. I’ve been at my current firm only about 6 months. Also the last company I worked for - I explored something outside consulting but hated it (many reasons) and left after 6 months. I’m not one to hop but life circumstances facilitated my jump between forms over the years every 2ish years. I’m worried if I get MS job it’ll emphasize a hopping story.

Industry vets - in your experience how recession proof is insurance? I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. I was wanting to hit the job market towards the end of this year, but now I worry that if I do move companies, the recession could put me in position of last one hired first one fired. Is it better to stay put?
