I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

I would argue your goal then should just be to accept every chance to improve communication while in the program (presentations, outings, small talk, class discussions, events at school, clubs etc) so by the end of it you have completely evolved.
MBAs allow a ton of opportunities for this so by the end of the program you will be comfortable in those environments and no longer have that issue (which stems from no previous opportunities/chance to practice).
The best tip I give everyone is just talk to them like you would an old friend you ran into on the street + start doing new things (join club, sport, hobby etc) so you have talking points, that’s it seriously.
This. Put yourself in uncomfortable positions and learn. I remember my first few coffee chats and how awkward I was. You figure it out quickly. And if not, it’s 100% possible to land a decent job with minimal networking.
Talk about travel, classes, and recruiting lmao
But also, as an introvert, I would say don’t worry about it too much. I found it less socially stressful than I expected and also feel like I naturally grew better at small talk.
