Coach
There is no such thing as a 'title level down'. You are likely comparing apples and oranges. Pay reflects value. Oversimplified example - say you are a Manager at a taco bell. Then you take an analyst role at Goldman Sachs. That wouldn't be a level down

Not frowned at all - chase the money
Is it for sure leveled down? I mean there are some firms where SM is dir equivalent so guess it kind of depends on where the offer is. Either way, more money is more money.
I “leveled down” for 50% pay increase and IDGAF. I have less responsibilities for more pay and a better brand name on my resume, what do I care?
Where did you go?
Just FYI, b4 MDs come to faang at mgr level. Telling from my personal exp. chase $$ not title.
I've seen senior SDE making over 400k. B4 pay too low in front of tech
Titles don’t pay the bills!
“Titles” in consulting , AND also in industry are what - in consulting you can be anything but with better pay and in industry sometimes all junior-mid level are VPs (example banks) but lower pay than consulting. It just depends, what it is , where you are and where and what you want to be ! My penny !
Exactly. I "leveled down" from manager to senior at a tech with 100% TC raise. Your pay shows your value and believe recruiters knows the range of your pay also. Chase the money and money will chase you
I’d prob just hide the title at that point if you’re worried on LinkedIn 😂 money talks obv but if you’re worried about optics I’d just do that
