My bad OP I assumed you were in school.
OCR- On Campus Recruiting
You can google what Product Strategy entails and probably find something useful on Quora. Quora will give a lot of insight on many of the roles I mentioned in the list from previous or current employees. You can also refer to Wall Street Oasis for more info. on finance roles.
You typically go to b-school (business school) for a career change. There are well known recruiting programs for B-School like undergrad. Most people will have an idea where they want to go career wise when they apply. For example, most technology consultants want to switch to strategy consulting and b-school is a well known ticket for a first round interview. However, at the same time a lot of people might have no idea what they want to do. The top schools though provide great resources and mentorship for OCR as well resources for entrepreneurship. Go to Vault for salaries for business school hires for consulting firms and more info.
Hope it helps! Apart from potentially better career options, b-school is great for meeting new people and making connections as that is difficult post undergrad. Those that “already made it” (MBB/PE/IB/Entrepreneurs) are going to be looking for what they actually enjoy doing regardless of comp.
Gl OP, you got this (:
What do you mean? Shouldn’t you know coming in options such as VC, Strategy Consulting, FANG Internal Strategy Consulting, Product Manager at any known tech firm, Investment Banking, HF/PE, etc. Also you can start a company with your classmates.
All options are well know paths. Did you skip OCR lol?
What’s OCR? I majored in computer science and am currently employed as a technology consultant, but I lack the awareness of most other professional roles and/or a solid understanding of the more frequent ones. For example, I know of consulting, PE/IB, VC, and project management, but I don’t know what product strategy entails or what a product manager does on a daily basis. Any resources to help educate me on these topics would be extremely helpful
PwC OP - where are you going for bschool?
