Hi all,
Does anyone know about ESA department.
Bain & Company Can someone recommend a good starting point on how to go around solving case interviews? What frameworks should I follow? I am kinda new to case interview and want to develop skills to solve them. Any books, online sources would be really appreciable. Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

Someone from my team went after 2 years, straight after being promoted L4-L5, so I guess it’s not too bad
Depends how well you fit what you’re looking to do.
If you do enterprise sales at Amazon and want to do enterprise sales at google it should be relatively simple for a high performer.
You want to hire someone whose going to do well in the role. If someone has success with comparable experience (e.g. enterprise sales for AWS) at a comparable company (e.g. Amazon) that’s an easy person to hire into an enterprise sales role at Google.

PgM is hiring like crazy, if you have cloud project or program management experience, especially at Amazon you’ve already got a leg up. Sales is a little harder to break into, current path of least resistance is PgM.
Depends on your background and expertise but being in Amazon should be a plus for you
Thanks! I’ve heard rumors that recruiters are not to fond of ex-Amazon applicants, hopefully that’s not true
The stars and planets must align....Kidding, but I'd say it depends on need and timing.
LOL might be worth checking with an astrologer (kidding, kind of)
I wouldn't worry about your unvested equity here. There are ways to incorporate that into your hiring package in many cases. (Sign on equivalent or more equity). And bc equity vests much faster at Google, you might not miss too much, or any at all, in terms of compensation.
I know someone who has been trying for years, so definitely do everything you can to increase your odds.

To answer your question about how Amazon / AWS people are viewed in the industry.
I can only speak for my small world of Google cloud - but it's not that they are frowned upon as much as their personality and goals do not mesh with our culture.
The longer you are at aws the more likely you will inherit the traits just don't mix with our culture.
Disagree on what? The definition of bias?
How about in Legal?
Legal doesn't have as many openings as consistently as PgM or engineering. So it just makes it harder from a numbers perspective.
From Amazon? Shouldn't be too difficult
Don't wait to vest. Those golden handcuffs are in fact gold bars that you can use for negotiation leverage. And with 6 years at Amazon, you will be very attractive to Google.
