FDD exit opportunities?
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?
My company Qualitest India has a lot of openings for Manual and Automation testers/DEVOPS/ETL and other roles for India and even abroad. Please check https://qualitestgroup.com/careers/open-positions/#open-positions and contact me personally with suitable job id from the link above. I will try to refer.
Note: I am not a recruiter. I work there as an Engineer and just trying to help people. 😊
Our Philadelphia-area boutique firm whose practice works exclusively with nonprofits and charities is hiring due to growth. Tax is the basis of Exempt Org work. That is why I am posting here. Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

I think it really depends on this market. You can likely get higher salary and higher job title, but there might also be fewer roles (esp depending on what industry you want). I recommend starting to apply to jobs now- if you get something you like at a salary youre happy with, you can decide then. If not, you can continue AP path
Note- i dont know what a PERM application is (permanent residency?) so dont have advice on how that would impact your hunt
You can tell how toxic McK is from the laugh emojis under each post…

Laugh emojis is in inside joke in this bowl.
Stay until your PERM is approved, then file for I-140 premium processing (45 business days), then file I-485 right after if your priority day is current, if not then stay for 6 months and find an exit but you still can keep your PERM priority day
So… congrats on the promotion…. EM to AP is a different ball game, and you’ll need different skills
For it boils down to: 1. Do you find the Partner work inspirational or not?, 2. What are you really solving for, staying closer to home and be present? Or doubling down on impact and client work?
My number one reason to stay from EM to AP would be that EM was a limit fun, especially once I got good at it.
I am finding exits to be the same available, but also some better ones that are a little more work to find and interview for. Depending on company size, VP roles are available that often would have been Director roles as an EM I think.
