Apply for the consultant role and they’ll decide you aren’t ready and put you in the analyst set, if they need the skill at the analyst level. Otherwise, you can go to your alma mater and apply via campus
Why bother making a lateral move this early in your career?
Is there no posting for general (school agnostic)?
Also, most firms do recruit from a fixed set of schools, so that may hurt your chances (eg. McKinsey has a general BA app, but that doesn’t mean anyone has a shot).

Deloitte has target schools.. if you don’t come from a target school, you gotta know someone who knows a Partner/Principal/MD who can get you in
Good luck!
D1 - no will just not review the app... best advice is D2 to get in as a P/MD referral

Can a partner from Tax push your resume to consulting ?
Yes any partner may make a referral to any part of the business
There are no school-agnostic postings. I do come from a target school, and have been at Accenture for a little over a year. Not pleased with its regional model/CDP and looking around at similar firms
OP - regional model isn't a hard and fast rule. It's easy to bypass. If you've been around for a year, your network should carry you to the roles you want, and CDP is a temporary landing zone. If those are your reasons, I'd consider waiting until a level change to consultant before dipping out, it will make the process a bit easier. Good luck with your search!
