Nothing after hours. Work life balance has to be respected. My last employer would do team bonding (voluntary, not required) in the afternoon and once completed, leave a little early. It was a nice way to get people to participate - a little extra incentive and doesn't seem to be forced fun. Employees rather do things "on the clock" in my experience.
If I'm not getting paid, I'm not going. You can up my work engagement level and morale by respecting my work-life boundaries.
Hard no.
Love team bonding. Hate unpaid labor disguised as fun. Mandatory fun is how you get a room full of adults silently plotting escape routes.
No thank you. After hours is reserved for my private life. If you want team bonding schedule it during work hours.
If its mandatory, it is compensable.
If it is mandatory, it should be paid. Full stop.
You didn't answer the question!
Mandatory? Nah, fam.
No.
If its after hours, it's not mandatory. Employers can't hold employees accountable for not attending events outside their work schedule. I think communicating employees are required to attend the after work event is horrible for moral.
If it's mandatory, it should be paid. Team bonding events should be hosted during work hours... otherwise, if it's going to be after hours, make it voluntary.
Mandatory after hours, no.
Call it a retreat and compensate, somehow, no more than twice a year.
Simple NO !
Certainly shouldn’t be mandatory… Ew.
I am not a fan. If it is mandatory and after hours, it feels like work. I think it should always be optional, otherwise it defeats the purpose.
Our off hours events aren't mandatory, but some managers put more pressure on their teams to attend than I would like.
Not for me
