Be honest. Let them know how you like to work. And ask them how they like to work.
Let them know if they don't can't deliver, they need to talk to you and find a solution. Or the working relationship won't work.
Also take them/the team for lunch. Help them integrate into the team/workplace. Show your humanity. How you can teach them. What they are working towards. But also establish the expectations.
First thing that comes to mind is just practice some patience. If she's new she just might be awkward at the new job. If she's not following up on things she may need some managing or coaching to get her up to speed. It's possible she's just not really settling in well, so maybe someone should work with her on that.

Yup this is 100% true. Patience and coaching on my end needed
Ugh, that’s tough. I'd try to stay professional and focus on the work. Maybe setting clear expectations and regular check-ins could help bridge the gap too. Also, I’ve found it’s helpful to be patient, sometimes people need time to adjust, especially when they’re new. Stay calm and give it time.

Thank you, appreciate the advice! I know it can be tough starting a new role so will give it time.
I’d recommend first making sure she’s set up for success. This could include providing resources, training, examples, connections with mentors and coaches, and clear communication of scope and process.
If you’ve already provided those, then give her very specific and concrete feedback. Don’t be vague or unclear on the expectations - as unexpressed expectations lead to premeditated resentment.
Yeah, not having a decent onboarding process is rough!
I’d also say it’s important to remember people learn, work, and communicate in different modalities. Tailoring an approach to her style/habits might also help - it definitely takes some investment in the beginning, but I think it pays off in the long term.
