Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

My view is completely opposite to AS1's. I have only seen exits to investment teams, not to ops teams. Also only seen PE exits at the junior level, which is probably correlated to the previous statement. Maybe he is European, I am on the Americas side.
If you look at percentage of junior (3 years of exp or less) guys exiting to PE, it looks like a similar percentage compared to MBB or T2. But we are less than 10% of the size of these firms, so you see a smaller absolute number of PE exits. And as AS2 said, it seems to only be exits to MM PE or infra PE, no MF PE exits.
Agree with AS3. In the past 3 years 100% of PE exits in the US have been to deal teams, not ops. Typically at Associate or Senior Associate, and largely MM, tmt-focused funds (not just infra but GE as well)
People think MBB exit to PE is guaranteed but reality is % wise probably place at a similar rate given our size and industry focus
Investment teams -> track record is poor. Asset management (ops) -> doable esp for TMT focused funds.
However, I imagine as firm grows better exits will be possible.
yeah not good. ppl that I know that went to PE (Europe), either had an IB background before joining us or went from us to MBB and then to PE
better - I know some folks that went into the investment side. But not to super large funds (so not KKR/Cinven/EQT/etc.), but more Infrafocused Midcap
How about Senior Consultant/manager level exit to PE? Any significant difference than associate/senior associate?
