Hi all, I am working at Natwest Group RBS and I have recently applied for Product Manager Role(gurgaon) in Gartner. How much CTC I should ask and what is the general hike and bonus they give on yearly basis and can someone provide some insights on work life balance and leave policy?

Feel free to DM me but i have been in a similar spot. No bridges burned. Ultimately, going up early is YOUR decision. It has to feel right to you. And if it doesn’t, then say : thank you for the support. I’m interested in continuing to grow towards next level, but am keeping my target year. Or don’t make a decision and just stay the course/ don’t do anything unnatural and see where you end up.
It may be worth talking to your leadership to understand if early promo support is because you’re already basically there - in which case, keep the promo that you earned; vs it being close enough if you stretch.
I took 5 weeks off my promo year, rolled myself off my project and took a break. That time off fundamentally changed the way I viewed work and I am still benefitting from that time years later. If you are a strong performer, trust the experience that got you there -/ meaning, make decisions that feel right to you. And trust the leadership around you to tell you if you’re getting off track.
Thank you for the response, that’s helpful ☺️
I’ll message you!

Sorry to hear. Hope things get better. I’d say get the promo since you’ve already put in the work and have the support to get it. Take a break after and reassess what you want to do.

Have an honest conversation about what you are going through and ask them for guidance. If the expectation is that you need to keep up this level of effort, take a break and prioritize you health. Good luck.
Are you going from SC to M? One of the key things as an M would be efficiency through time and resource management (delegate, divide and conquer).
The grind never stops, all you can do is learn to be more efficient with your time and not have your health suffer in the process. Plenty of people get promoted while putting in reasonable hours.
What should matter for promotion is the level and quality of your work and not the raw number of hours you put in.
70-80 hours a week is incredibly insane and should absolutely not be a requisite for a promotion. Your leadership should agree and help you bring it down to reasonable levels. If not, they are not the best leaders to work for.
Also, our careers are long, they are going to last decades. Early promotions don’t really mean much in the long run if your health suffers.
Please do not compromise your physical and mental well being. At the end that’s the only thing that’s going to matter.
sorry to hear you are burned out, take care of yourself is No1,
