How is the work life balance for internal consulting at a bulge bracket, is it worth leaving big 4 strategy

I have experience working as Lead Software Engineer for over 5 years with Goldman Sachs across many Retail Consumer applications. I'm considering switching to Technology Consulting roles with McKinsey / BCG - any suggestions?

Any one make a move from fund admin after big 4 assurance and then was able to make a pivot to a PE fund accounting team? I am considering moving to a fund admin now. Have 9+ years of big four experience. Worried that I can get stuck in fund admin. But I have interviewed at several big name pe shops and make a few rounds on interviews but then get the same feedback that they are worried about my lack of operational experience.
