If you’re an analyst (couple of years out of school max) then there’s no reason you can’t fit it onto one page. Multiple pages would be for someone later in their career with significant experience under their belt
One page, hard stop
Back in the day, i hired a career coach and I was told that if you have more than 10 years of experience you can go over 1 page. Personally when I interview, I prefer a 1 pager. If you cannot fit your experience in 1 page, can I really trust you to write an executive summary 🙃
There is an executive summary on the first page. The appendix (page 2) backs that up with additional data.
Multi page I have only seen with senior levels and it’s brief recaps On various leadership roles
1 page up to Associate, 2 pages after that: 1 page CV plus 1 page deal list (hopefully you have a deal list). I read a lot of CVs and ultimately I don’t care whether it is one, two or more pages as long as it is concise (gets more difficult with CVs longer than 2 pages). What really pisses me off is when I cannot work out the years of work experience or the sequencing of work, MBA, post MBA work. Be clear in whatever you do. Also on your level.
Best approach to getting the job (rather than just the call) is solid experience... irrespective of whether your CV/resume is 1 or 4 pages long. As long as your CV stacks up and has no mistakes in it that is all that matters.
