Before joining any such paid programmes, I would recommend you to start learning basics from open source. At least learn python and then do some courses on data science from udemy. If you like it further, then you can enroll into some one year program on data science and analytics.
You may have to compromise on your ctc in start. Expect somewhere around 5 to 8LPA but once you get some good experience then you can switch to 15+ and even more
. I have done python cource and also did cources from udemy and youtube to get all the basic knowledge. Still someone said I need to do a paid certificate from big institutes who can provide placements too

Am a Civil engineer with 8 yoe into planning. Currently working as a Functional Consultant for a IT firm
Certification is not required and also for 8 yrs experience you are not a fresher. You have to make use of the domain knowledge and build ml algos on it

It's for work culture. And yes salary is a part too. It's not about only data scientist I would like to work as a data analyst too.
