why join on a reduced base? At least they could have matched your base
the overall salary is higher, plus it is Microsoft, brand matters to me.
Microsoft is known for lowballing. No biggie there.
If you want a brand name and good WLB(except Azure), you may consider the offer.
I was offered 23L base + 30k stocks in 4 years while joining. This was in 2021.
1. You’re almost at the max stretch of L61. I have heard max 35-37L for L61. If your manager is a bit strict, they’d want you to perform at L61 level sooner than later
2. You can still bargain for stocks. Would help if you present them with a counteroffer
Microsoft can hardly attract and retain top tallent now. With zero hikes, no rewards and recognitions, reduced perks, lower than avg salary, frequent re-org... And the list goes on.
@Author, if you have decided to join, then do give it a try. You can always switch if you don't like working there.

In 5 years exp EPAM gave you 37..that's crazy salary.Ask Microsoft to match the base.JB is only one time ,don't consider as part of CTC.
Ask them to reduce JB and include that as part of CTC.

Considering your years of experience and the comprehensive compensation package, it seems like your overall salary at Microsoft, approximately 55 LPA, is a notable increase from your previous package of 43 LPA.
Tell them to increase your base. This way your monthly inland will decrease. If you are comfortable with decreased monthly in hand salary then that ok.
Buddy try to understand one thing relocation bonus and joining bonus is not your CTC. CTC is something which you will get every year but those bonus you will not get every year.
So your actual CTC is around 46LPA and again stock will be there just for 4 years after that your CTC will be way less that 40LPA definitely there will some raise in these 4 years, but that won't going to change rhe fact that you are low balled.
ASK THEM TO INCREASE YOUR BASE MORE THAN YOUR CURRENT ONE.
See hike or stock refreshers will be based on performance that's first thing. But offered should not be less than the current. If Microsoft mentioned him that this is the max base they can provide but they will adjust it with stocks amount then that's up to the author to respond.
But if they decide on their own then it's his right to ask for increasing the base.
Microsoft is a great brand. If the base and bonuses match your financial goals, go for it.
