Funny enough, partner who hired me told me “your case performance was ok but I really liked you and you had cool experience so I decided to give you a chance” so... behavioral matters?
Haha what did you two talk about?
Imo most firms probably weight case vs behavioral 80/20. If you received an interview invite it’s assumed you’re a pretty good fit because you had to network a fair amount to get that invite.
In regards to the case: business acumen, structured thinking/problem solving, mental math skills, and ability to drive the case forward (in interviewee led cases)
Appreciate the help. Thank you!
Mind me asking when you got a call back? And was this for on campus/post MBA?
Just DM’ed you!
It’s certainly tougher to be good at the cases, but you could potentially stumble and recover and be okay. But if you screw up the behavioral part of the interview you are probably toast, because it should be easy
In my experience (APAC), following is the split on case vs behavioural
McK - 60/40
BCG - 80/20
Bain - 70/30
