I guess it depends on if you get promoted
We shall see, already talking with some new roles though just in case
They know the significance of not promoting somebody who up for one. I would likely take it as they’re willing to lose you if they don’t promote you.

Yea, waiting to see what the final verdict is. Would like to get promoted but if something better comes along and I’m not promoted, I’m gone.
In this market you can probably lateral for the manager spot. I mean if you’re at B4 that’s not ideal but if not, might as well tbh
This happened to me. I was not happy. But I ended up with a better job after sticking it out for a year afterwards.

Having limited spots available for promotion is not the same thing as you are not getting promoted. If you are high performing, make it very clear that you expect a promotion.
Never understand why firms do this over hiring internally. There’s big risk in external hires - new systems to learn, might not mesh with personalities well, might not be qualified as resume shows, etc
In my original comment I was referring to internal promos (such as yourself), not internal hires/ transfers. Hope you get the promo that you’ve earned! All the best

I’m the only one that’s up for promotion in our group, so it’s really only effecting me.
