Don't leave until bonus hits bank account. They can and will try to screw you.
If working 10 additional days (two weeks) is that bad either 1) get a lawyer 2) suck it up
^all analysts are at will and therefore they can terminate you without giving you your bonus. DO NOT LEAVE BEFORE YOU RECEIVE IT. on another note, my firm defers part of analyst bonuses until October, anyone else have that bs?
Get the cash in your account first. Crazy to do otherwise.
There is a policy on the website. It says very clearly when you need to be employed to receive your bonus. Go read it.
Sorry, my bad, should have phrased the question better: can they rescind your bonus award between announcement and crediting your account? Obviously planning to stay for at least a few weeks after giving notice to help with handoffs, but the question is when to give notice.
^also all disputes for most people will be subject to arbitration. Good luck suing.
Based on previous experience...bonus is paid as long as you are working for them by the date it's credited to your account. It doesn't matter when you give the notice as long as you clearly state the last day you will work for them. If they asked you to leave before that day, get it in writing in case you have to file a lawsuit. Not sure if your employment contract have a clause regarding bonus and termination/resignation, you might want to check it.
This is a stupid question. Just ask HR
