Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Learn a skill like Python for analytics, see where you can potentially implement that in your current role. Just half an hr to an hr a day will be good to get you ramped up.
What's Python for analytics? Using visualization packages?

@AC1 - some advice: do not accept or even entertain anything below 120K. If it’s a startup or tech company then ask for stock also. Having recently gone through recruitment I can tell you companies are desperate for analytics talent. Just be sure to kill the technical round.
Assuming you have at least 2 years of experience and are in NAM market that is.
You literally just start doing it. You've already got the data and management is always hungry for buzz words like ML. Just get someone already experienced to vet your work.
Once you've done some rounds, add it to your resume, and wham, you're qualified 🤘
I'd help my colleagues become more efficient...
It’s a nice thought, but precisely can you do that?
What industry are you in that allows you to make 150?
It’s an early stage startup. Market is really hot I guess… lots of money out there
What flavor ds? I work in ds/a for meta I do a good bit in correlation models SQL ranking etc, if you want ml engineering tbh most at my company have masters + but you could always try to do a ton of kaggle competitions to learn, gain clout, maybe win and get paid/job offers
Can I PM you? I’ve had recruiters reach out for that role and would love to learn more about what it is you do.
