One helpful framework I've used with my clients making the same jump is to focus on strategic impact. Are you facilitating collaboration between departments or verticals? Or supporting ideas that show your expertise on your non-profit’s objectives? Putting on your advisor hat in your talks with the CEO and your mentor hat with others can help as well. And don't forget to also highlight how you help your team succeed when you're sharing accomplishments. It’s really key to show you’re adaptable and forward-thinking. I’ve been a mid-level manager (Sr Operations Manager) for the last three years. Been in my industry for 10 years. I feel I have plateaued in my career path. Working my way up the corporate ladder. I have so many thoughts on leadership and want to initiate changes in the departments I work with. But at this level it's so difficult. Ppl are so resistant to change.
