CTA is still valuable and you should go for it
Your current situation sounds like you'll see more of a change from changing shops though
I agree. Having a CTA is always good. This is for working at another company or freelance.
And I also agree that you current employer may not be valuing your skills. Start looking for other opportunities and while interviewing let them k ow your are planning to get CTA.
All the Best!
In my opinion it’s simply not worth the time required to pass.
Your current challenge is that your company (or perhaps even just your manager) are not promoting you/giving raises large enough to satisfy you. My first recommendation would be to look for open roles at other places. If you land a job with a 75% pay increase then you’ll know you didn’t need the CTA cert after all!
But, if you find yourself having trouble getting interviews and still not getting offers at the compensation you’re seeking, I would recommend obtaining AWS or GCP certs to expand your knowledge. These certs have broader market applicability and will help take your knowledge wider vs going incredibly deep like CTA does.
I think that's my preferred approach but I figured I'd get a temperature check here to see if I was missing anything.
