Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
Good luck this week, everyone.

Does a 40-hour week mean 9-5 or 9-6?

My experience of MBB peeps from B school was that Bain were indeed a lot of fun, BCG were very brainy but, like, nice, and McK were (apart from a few exceptions) pretty aloof and weird (although also not stupid).
They were ‘driven’ but ultimately in a selfish way. Also it was *amazing* when they got corrected in class. Dear lord. They just wouldn’t back down (despite being demonstrably wrong). One professor openly said “you don’t have your brand behind you now, sit down”.
BCG and Bain never did that. They were either right, or humble. Bain were usually hungover and sleeping at the back. Great guys.
For context, I was offered Bain and BCG (yes that means I’m biased blah blah) but in non top tier cities so I went for a manager role in Accenture Strategy in my preferred location for family reasons (and so I could skip a rank and still coast).
What school did you go to? Thanks for your explanation. It was interesting to read. Bain sounds great and BCG maybe better because nice is the best at the end of the day
More similar than different, especially when compared with Big4, law firms, investment banks
I work in a FANG company with a lot of ex-consultants and the only noticeable difference is that McK people take themselves more seriously. Again this doesnt mean that every McK person is serious but on average. I think there are bigger differences when comparing pre-MBA and post-MBA ex consultants than across firms.
What are the biggest differences pre/post MBA?
Range off people overlaps quite a bit. Anything else is just perpetuating wonky stereotypes
