Have to admit that would be a funny situation
I don't see why you wouldn't?
Woah, SM don't be such a dick, let's hope you get laid off so you know how it feels. Some people are laid off beyond their controls for being based in a region or industry
I don't see the problem though? You weren't fired. You were laid off.
No. They will eventually figure out that you were with the firm and got laid off. Why waste your time and theirs?
I feel like it would come up during interview
Even better if you can get an offer and make more than you did when you were laid off
Reality check. Someone doesn't get laid off if he/she is a top performer. Why do you think you would even make it to an interview if you were laid off?
Why would you apply and then deny a call? Sounds like a waste of time
@SM 1 I was there once whee I was a casualty and it was just wrong reason wrong time...no SM or Ppd I worked with saw it coming
Potentially I would, at the moment I would probably take it
Of course they'll know but so what. As long as you weren't laid off for poor performance you're more qualified than any other applicant. The question is whether you want it. And you won't be able to negotiate much on salary.
Yes. No need to hide your previous work tho.
To SMs point, the circumstances of the layoff matter. You should expect the recruitment team to contact previous superiors to validate your performance. If the past performance was good, it should be a benefit to you.
@D2 - OP said laid off but the firm is still hiring (hence the interview). Sorry, not trying to be a dick but assuming there is more to the story than a region/industry RIF.
If the OP is with PWC they are weird like that. I hear it is really hard to move internally to other groups
K2 - Then why would someone want to rejoin a firm like that? Look for opportunities elsewhere. Lots of them out there!
D2 - You're saying you would go back?? Back to OP question - take the interview or not? Personally I would not.
