Dear recruiter who said you’d get back to me ASAP:

Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

If an agency feels you’re worth 2.6x more than your current agency is paying you, then you need to look at your current position in a new light. They’re cheap. Or they can’t really afford you.
It’s sounds like the second option I spoke of. You’ve progressed past them and now they can’t afford you based on market norms. It happens to agencies that help people progress, but don’t keep up with salary increases. The shop ends up running on young, cheap talent with huge income disparities between C-suite and the rank and file.
#selfcare congratulations on the new gig. Loyalty starts at home ✌🏽
I mean, who could blame you?
Nobody. Everybody understands. It just sucks, I’ll miss the work, culture and people.
As someone who got a 75% bump from changing agencies, I would say that kind of bump really motivates you to perform at that new level. Bring your A-game! Can't wait to see what new ground you will uncover for the industry.
I just mean that after a certain amount of time, you get used to the money you earn. Salary is not what motivates people in most cases. It's important, of course, but other things are far more so when it comes to motivation.
Damn, Daniel.
Did you move to a different market along with a promotion in title and responsibilities? Like from somewhere "remote" to NYC? Curious how you go to 2.6x your previous salary in a single move as it's quite a huge leap (like entry 50k would go to 130k following that math..)
And congrats!!
Yeah all the additional context has made this make much more sense
Is your new offer at another similarly structured agency or is it in house?
Similar structured agency
Happy for you but envious af. No raise or title change in several years. Need to just take the hint and GTFO but my self esteem is shot from constant handraising and getting blown off or ignored.
Especially when the job open for months is filled, then 4 months later back listing and you still are not what they are looking for, filled again and back for the third time.
I’m looking at you Hulu ... looking directly at you
