Too much competition in Data Science as per my experience. I was also willing to switch to Data Science/Data Analytics domain. But saw that there were thousands of applicants for a single opening. Finally gave up. Don't want to discourage you, but just an advice, grab the very first opportunity you get to enter the DS/DA universe. Entering into it I think is the biggest challenge.
True point
So what you recommend can a good or demanding field for the future as well in the IT field as per your experience and knowledge ?
Don't do master now if you have no interest in research ( yes in master 70% of time goes in writing and drafting thesis - I learnt more of ms office in master then actual data science)
I did pgd + master in ai ml and now I think I should have just done pgd.
Now coming to job, neither bootcamp nor the masters guarantee you a job at all.
Instead spend good time on kaggle, start with becoming notebook expert and then make a good kaggle profile and be proficient in basics specially python and stats.
Start appearing in job and don't just target data scientist role. There are plenty of data analyst or business analyst role too.
If you are good with python then you can target developer role too ( it pays handsomely in long run)
For development role - get some hands-on with SQL and APIs
I guess practical learning and learning from interviews failure would be better then master if you primary target is getting a job, you can always do masters later on .
Best of luck to you, just start giving as many interviews you can without fear of failure - nothing to loose but a lot to gain and one more important thing - if say you get job in some startup or small org with not so good pay - just do it anyway if no other better option is there - you just need 1 year of experience in the field. I had started with a free job and today I have 40 LPA package. Did my masters with my own money and own a flat in posh location. So nothing is impossible and I am definitely not so smart at studies
