Do it. Life is too short to stay at a job you do not find interesting. If the pay and benefits are comparable to one another, I'd say go for it.
You can always go from in house back to public, and you will have a unique skill set if you come back.
If the fund really takes off more, you are well positioned. A fund like this is established but has room to grow. You will grow professionally (and hopefully monetarily) with it too.
However, I am worried about leaving for a smaller firm and limiting my growth potential. Overall I’m worried about leaving for the wrong opportunity. From what I’ve heard leaving for a hedge fund is typically a good place to be from a growth perspective, any thoughts on this?
I need the advice from someone more experienced than me. What are some of the things I should consider being making this jump?
