D1 - again, agree to disagree lol hasn’t been my personal previous experience at Big 4 at all, but glad it’s working out that way for you
If your main concern is maximizing comp and prestige, then you should definitely stay within the B4, or A&M for comp. The reason to leave is usually to find better culture and/or work life balance…maybe to get exposure to a wider variety of work or clients as huge firms generally don’t work with tiny private companies, which can be way more challenging and interesting than they get credit for.
I started in B4 and now work at MFC. I really like the culture here, but you’re definitely not going to earn more money here in the long run. You’d also be better off staying in B4 long enough to build client relationships and go to a smaller firm as someone with the ability to sell work.
I just did an internship at Connor Group. They’re definitely in the growth and expansion phase. Much less prestige than EY but if you’re looking for an opportunity with remote work and better work life balance than Connor Group is a great option. Nearly all of Connor Group employees are former big four. I think most people make the switch from big four to Connor Group for a better wlb, remote work, and to play a bigger part in engagements—teams are small
I actually had an offer to intern with EY FAAS but decided to do deals at A&M.
