I am a young graphic designer and my dream is to eventually set up my own agency. Anyone ever accomplished this? Was it hard?

The hardest part, or probably the ONE hard thing, is to grow and retain your clientele.

Setting up your own agency can be a very rewarding experience, but it can also be tough. You have to build a strong client base and learn to market your services effectively. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but if you're passionate about graphic design and have the drive to succeed, then it's possible to achieve your dream.

I made it! Almost by mistake. I worked for many years as a freelancer and when I realized I had so many clients that I needed help to manage them in order to accomplish each project. I hired other designers, a project manager, and a couple of marketing people, and now we have a small but very successful agency.

Same thing happened to me! Now I’m scaling up to reaching online courses

I haven't done so myself, but I often do contract work for a friend who bootstrapped her agency. It was hard for awhile no doubt about it. She had to continue working a salaried job while she built up her portfolio and clientele. If you're someone who knows how to get out there and find paying clients, you can definitely do it! Just know you'll have a lot of hard work ahead of you.

I accepted an offer from Morgan Stanley in mid-October. Currently in the background check process for them but 3 years ago I was arrested for something that was dismissed by a judge & not reportable to FINRA. Obviously when they ran my background check this came up and I was questioned by MS HR. I provided them everything they asked for a week ago but I have still not heard anything about a start date or if they'll rescind the offer. Has anyone experienced this? Seems like their process is taking longer.

Has anyone ever posted a general marketing position? We have an open position on our marketing team but we are unsure what type of position to offer. We have a wide variety of needs but don’t necessarily need to have this future person have all these skills. For example we need someone with great copywriting skills and also need someone who is great at digital marketing. This person doesn’t necessarily need to have both skills but if they did great, but if only one, great too.
