Dragging out the process for no reason seems to be the way now. Multiple interview rounds and over-communication OR not hearing anything back either way after multiple rounds. The whole process has gotten crazy and would love to see it go back to some kind of normal.
Act freaked out every time.
"Wait, why? What did they say! It's not true whatever they said. And the scream-crying thing...that was a one-off, that usually doesn't happen. If they didn't bring that up it didn't happen this time either, just mentioning in case they talked to my parole officer. Mom! Hang up!! I'm on the phone with my new boss ffs!!"
It’s not always a formality or process, and can be to truly get your opinion on how it went, & see if you are interested in moving forward. That’s your decision & not one we should assume.
I just want this to be done. I can’t take another week of this exhausting back and forth.
It’s normal to feel that way, and many recruiters / HR folks have been there ourselves in this job market. It’s also fair to ask what you should expect with timing on next steps & process. if you are dealing with a staffing agency recruiter, use your next interview with the hiring / peer team to dig into company culture and work styles. remember you are also interviewing them to see if this is a fit!
