Will you still be in the state? Do they have any in office requirement?
My inclination is that you don't tell them you are moving unless you have some sort of contractual obligation to do so (I've seen firms require an employee live within a 50 mile radius).
Prep yourself that on review day you may need to travel back for the day and use it as an opportunity to see friends you moved away from.
You may need to notify HR so that your local withholding and address information is correct. If the firm has a handbook refer to that for guidance.
I agree with P1. The only other reason I can think of why you’d notify them is for your benefits and payroll information to have the right address. But if it doesn’t matter, that’s your business 🤷🏻♀️
I think the others are correct that so long as you are in the same state and don't have any other contractual obligations as terms of your employment, it's not a problem. I don't have much knowledge on the issue, but employers have an interest to know what states they have employees residing in (it may be an insurance thing).
Option one: don’t say anything, and when she finds out gaslight her and tell her that you emailed her. Maybe even come up with a fake email. Haha
Option two: be indirect and ask for time off because you’re moving.
