Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Do the following: negotiate severance that is generous. Calmly get a lawyer to negotiate on your behalf. Get at least 4-5 months. Take a breath. Reevaluate what you want. You can look at Amazon etc. You are more than just a creator of libraries. You also have client relationships. Think about other functions. Are you interested in sales? Product Management in tech.
Former consultant and Strategy Director here, I would be happy to have a conversation with you. Full disclosure: I’m currently a professional development director and career transition coach, but this would be an informal call to share what I know. At the very least, I could give you some tips and resources to help you stand out. No strings attached offer and hope I can help.

What I am trying to say here is that you don’t necessarily have to move to the exact same job you have now. You can do many different things.
I appreciate that advice. I genuinely enjoy leading tech teams and developing and mentoring junior engineers
Thanks for the great advice everyone. In my head I always assumed I was highly employable and could just walk into any job. The crash back to reality is painful

Op - you and I are on the same boat. Seems like we have the exact same situation.
Good luck on your new career search.
You too buddy
Tailor your resume to each job posting and include a lot of the key words from the posting such as skills, certs, regulations etc.
When I switched jobs last it took me about 2 months of applying every day before I got an interview and then I had 2 months of non stop interviews, even had 6 interviews in one week.
Maybe start reviewing your resume? Talk to recruiters and ask them for feedback on your resume. Look at similar roles on Indeed etc. , and look at what’s in the job description and whether that is on your resume as well. Do the ATS check.

Op you may benefit from an American career coach to help you with the resume, interviewing techniques etc. you can negotiate coaching fees as part of your exit package.

Do you get contacted by headhunters in LinkedIn?
I’d beef up your LI profile, add buzzwords / areas of expertise and things you do that are in high demand... add certs in the appropriate places, and give and receive some recommendations to round out your profile

I get 100% of job opportunities via LinkedIn headhunters. I’d get your profile looking as good as possible..
It’s a much better system as you are already talking to recruiters vs being buried in a pile of applications
