I am new to Fishbowl and feeling a bit uncertain about how everything works. I've been in the healthcare recruiting, staffing, and HR industry for the majority of my career, but recently lost my job. Due to some health issues, I'm interested in finding an executive assistant role in healthcare. At the end of summer, I'll finally have my AAS and will start my BAAS in the fall through an online program. I've applied to over 100 jobs in the past week, but, I haven't received one call.

how to decide between firms? they seem so similar. deciding between bcg & mckinsey in chicago. are exit opps & brand value actually different between them?

I feel silly asking this question: is there a meaningful difference in pay progression or exits between M, B, and B? Just signed with one and it seems my inferiority complex has evolved

Are most companies paying for you to learn new skills? When acquiring new skills are you mostly self taught? What are your best go to sites for learning animation or video skills? Trying to gauge the norm on expectations for new hires who need to know everything from print, web, video, social and animation. Can you do it all?

What book have you read that was helpful for your career and/or that you would recommend? Could be a technical book, management, etc. For me, it’s a book I read a few years ago: The Phoenix Project. I never thought I would read and like a novel about DevOps but I recommend it to all my managers.

What is the value in professional certifications? ACCA, CFA, CIPD, etc.

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

Hey! I’m new here and would like some input. I’ve been working in a new position for almost 5 months. In that time I’ve witnessed some unethical and lots of unprofessional behavior. I’ve been yelled at and berated by my coworker 3 separate times because of minor errors. I’m ready to quit. There are so many major issues in this company that I don’t know if I want to subject my mental health to this degree of toxicity. I just don’t know how to move forward from here.

Help,I started a new career n the events industry and I think I have to quit! The person I report to is so disorganized and there are no other managers in the office to direct day to day operations of our department. On day 2 I was asked to go to a job site and perform a 12 hour day without any training, safety equipment or tools. On day 3 I was asked back to site to do general labor! I ended cutting my hand on an exacto knife and there was no first aid! Is this normal?
