Thoughts in continuing to rent in a small town just outside the city and staying remote vs moving to a bigger city and paying significantly more? Make 100k, paying 1k/mo in rent, maxing 401k, roth IRA, HSA, and extra in brokerage. No plans of buying a house (want to keep renting for flexibility as I invest the rest but obv can change down the line).

Worth it to slow down FIRE path for a bit for longer term career growth and accelerate it in a year or 2? Anyone else go through this thinking?

Just started working in-house within the last couple of months. First real attorney gig after doing compliance. The GC was terminated and I had to fill in the role as GC (even though that’s not what I’m called). My company says they don’t need a GC. Talked to my boss today and they want to hire another to take things off my plate since I am the only attorney. They plan to rewrite my job position to do more risk and compliance.
