I applied for a brand side role as an Associate Director. The responsibilities in the job description seem fairly senior and the listed salary band is 112-222k based on seniority. As I have over 12 years experience, I would expect to get on the higher end. However, the recruiter told me the budget for the role was 130k, which seems absurd. Has anyone seen such a huge discrepancy in posted salary band and the actual number stated by the recruiter? What is the best way to address the discrepancy?

I started interviewing early Oct with a company that reached out via recruiter. The hiring manager was very straight forward with me that I was his top candidate and I was told all other interviews were very positive incl CMO. The recruiter said they'd be making an offer but it's now been three weeks. Anyone else had the process drag on like this? How many interviews is too many? I’ve done 5 one on ones with different people in the practice group. They want me to talk to a few more, but I’m frustrated. It’s so hard to find time to schedule these things and the associates don’t seem to understand I can’t just take them in the middle of the work day at work. Recruiter thinks it’s a good sign. FWIW they haven’t communicated to me position level they’d expect.
