If you don’t have a job, and you need one from a financial standpoint, I’d take it… I’d rather work in unstructured chaos and eat, versus be unemployed and hungry… with the competitiveness of this market, who knows how long it will be before another offer surfaces…
There’s nothing saying you can’t still apply and interview and leave in a few months… it seems like that’s par for the course for this company anyway…
The person that invited you, must have thought the world of you. Maybe, just Maybe they thought this is an opportunity to get things in order, and they thought you were the perfect person for this. Don't look at this as a hindrance but as an opportunity
Take the job, get paid, keep looking. As soon as you find something better, jump.

agreed. I took a job and it was a NIGHTMARE. Grossly misrepresented and the upper management was a mean-girls type vibe. coming in as the lgbtq candidate that looks different from everyone else on the team put a target on my back.
i don’t even mention the experience. Block it out an erase the short time I was there.
I worked for the company and had an amazing time on the bell team made decent money in tips way better then being a waiter
I don't know if you've already made a decision yet, but I say take the job to have income coming in, and do your best, document everything, change for the better what you can, and keep your resume up to date, if you want to leave start looking for your next job.

Your statement showed you did not research about the organisation's activities before the interview, Equally, your response that the interview went well could mean satisfaction with remuneration package. Disorganized system regardless, you could make a change if the operational activities are not life threatening.
I absolutely did my research on the company that’s my first thing I always do when applying for a job. They had great reviews but they are contract. I’ve worked for contracts for 14 years Every contract job is different. Some are ran poorly some are ran great . This one seems to be ran poorly . They said their system works that tells me they don’t want to change the way they do things.
Do you need money? Do you like the environment? Are you planning on looking for a job in a year?
Take it and be the change for them. At least you have a job -then start looking for the next if it doesn’t work

Take it but but definitely negotiate for the highest pay possible then when make your money but also be looking for something else because sounds like they are showing you the red flags up front. Don’t stay to long in a toxic environment that’s going to drain you mentally. I’ve been there.
It depends on where you at financially. Sometimes you have to take job to pay your bills but keep looking

If you read the replies and not jump to judgement you'd see the OP has a job, its contract and the contract was just extended 4 months from this month. They don't need to leave.
The contract working world would make me nervous but the extension you got is good. How likely is another extension beyond that? That puts you into the new year, which is good because they might claim there's no real "job listing surge" there are slower hiring times and the winter holidays/ year end is it. Many people chew up vacation time and hiring slows in most conpanies. 4 months puts you at about January. How is your industry hiring in general? How many interviews have you been getting? If you've been seeing traction at all you can probably risk letting this pass. If you are in the same boat as most, even getting interviews is hard. You said this job is a 14 month contract? Could definitely be worth negotiating a good salary, bank what you can, work the job and keep hunting, I prevents the risk of being unemployed. Good luck, still sounds like good problems.

Do you need a job urgently. Then you probably don't have a choice. Otherwise no. The fact they openly admit they don't care about turnover means you will hate your life while working there and drain you from better oppertunities.
I left in 3 months. I was the 4th person to take the title and now I know why. All I can say is run. I know my own self worth. There is a ring leader and HR hides it.
Trust me I enjoy the stress of being unemployed then working for them.
